The temple is located in the Maruthankuzhy (Maruthankuzhi), around 7 km from Trivandrum City, and is very well connected by road. This beautiful temple attracts many pilgrims every day because the temple is like a sheltered place for lakhs and lakhs of devotees. Udiyanoor Devi Temple is unique because this is the only temple that faces north and is over 1300 years old. Every day, hundreds of devotees go to the temple to get the Goddess’s darshan.
Many devotees from Thiruvananthapuram as well as devotees from other states find refuge in this temple. A couple of the well-known celebrations held at Udiyanoor Devi Temple include the yearly Meda Punartham Pongala and Ooruttu festivals. The Nada shutters in the afternoon and reopens for darshan, same as other temples. The Udiyanoor Devi opens the Temple door for Darshan from the morning 5:00 AM to night 8:15 PM.
